CHARMI INTERVIEW

You have been moving about a fair bit. I mean you did Telugu and then Tamil and now even Malayalam films. Don't you think you should stay put in one language?
"I don't see any reason why. After all even Telugu which was the language of my first film was not in my mother tongue. So checking out all languages is the best option for me besides I do not know where I will taste success. I did a film with Silambarasan in Tamil and now the offers are coming in".

So am I to understand that you have yet to decide on any one language?
"Absolutely right. I have not decided yet. It will all depend on which language the offers are coming in for. I will be glad to stick to one if there is a clear indication". But if the offers start to come in thick and fast I guess you will then decide? "Just numbers don't make sense. If these films don't come with an attractive package I may not take them. After all I'm in it for the money and if that doesn't add up it makes no sense to work oneself to the bone".

Don't you want to be considered as being No 1? "Generally this stuff about being No 1 is all about the money so if I am being offered good money then it automatically means that I am somewhere at the top otherwise it means I am nowhere.
I must admit that she is right because being the criteria for being called No 1 is all about the actor's fee. All this talk about great acting talent is generally baloney. The public is the final arbiter. If they like a particular actress then they go out to watch her and if she has any brains she will hold out for as much as the market will bear.
How was the experience of working with Krishna Vamsi?
"He is simply amazing. One tends to think that you know a fair bit about acting after your first movie but when you work with someone like Krishna Vamsi you realise acting is a life long
learning experience. The shades within a given situation are so vast and varied that just thinking about the different aspects of an emotion makes your head spin".
