Gitanjali or Gili(charmi) arrives in Hyderabad to meet her friends (Lahari and sridhar) and stays ina flat that is located right opposite Manorama, a popular eatery. Gilli picks up her binoculars and stars scanning the people around. She has a rare talent of lip-reading, which is the ablity to know from what someone is saying beyond the hearing distance by deciphering the movements of lips.
By a quirk of fate,she finds a young man (Nishan) arriving with a bag and leaving it in the Hotel Manorama. The bag contains a bomb that would blast at a particular time.
Gitanjali wears an attitude of life, while the bomber is absessed with his mission. The rest of the story deals with what happens to the bomb and the young man and gili.
The Performances:
Charmi, in an off-beat role, carries herself with aplomb. The debutant Nishan is convincing and promising. Lahari and Sridhar make their presence felt. Dhanush and Pradeep are more than purposeful in their roles. all others are adequate in their roles.
The techniques:
Manorama is a unique story by Padmasri which has an oblique reference to terrorism and the essence of existence. Screenplay and direction by Eshwar Reddy sustain a subtle undercurrent. Jagan's camerwork is an asset. All other departments are adequate
